Sleep & hibernate with t61p

#1 Post by ejr » Wed Nov 28, 2007 10:32 pm

I have a new t61p, wuxga, running vista. But, when I go into sleep it comes out of it after a moment or so. The same thing happens with hibernation quite often. What must I do to make sleep and hibernation work as they should?

Turn off all Network adapters before putting it to sleep or hibernation by following:

My Computer > Right Click Properties > Device Manager > Network Adapters > Right click Properties on the network > Power Management > uncheck "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

Also please take a look at the following thread:

T61p: Hibernation does not work
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

After posting and googling a bit I discovered the solution, but in my case it was turning off, "Allow this device to wake the computer" for the network device. Thank you for your help.
