Client Security 8 problem

#1 Post by kam_ » Thu Nov 29, 2007 10:12 am

I just did a custom restore, then hit cancel at the fingerprint enrolment on every boot until i had finished with system update.

I installed client security last, then finally enrolled my fingerprints. Now no matter which option i select in the control pannel it doesnt authenticate with fingerprint, it just uses the normal windows password prompt :s

Short of re-installing client security 8, anyone got any ideas?

I believe you need to be more specific than you are. What Control Panel where? What happens if at the normal windows prompt you swipe your finger? If you go to CSS what is enabled there? If you go to the Thinkvantage Fingerprint Software | Settings | System Settings | (tab) logon | what is checked?

You need to mention the Operating System you're using, Windows Vista requires administrative privileges to open up hidden / blanked out settings.

With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."

Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

While i was waiting for an answer i did a windows update and that fixed it!

Very strange, i'm sure i didnt have to do it before.

In answer to your questions, i went through to fingerprint control panel either through client security (nothing greyed out) or directly and used elevate privaledges. Even when fingerprint logon was selected it wouldnt work.

If i swiped at the login prompt nothing happened.

But now it works
