80GB 7,200 rpm 2.5" drives exist yet?

I did some google searching but didnt find anything quite conclusive just yet.

Anyword on if these will be available? And if they are allready available adn you can order one right now, whats the liklihood that it will fit in your IBM (never mind the void'd warranty)

a few weeks ago, i've read in a internet computer journal that quoted Hitachi sources that SATA II mobile hard drives are "on schedule" for Q4 delivery end of this year, ahead of other rivals.

this magazine said Hitachi "refuses to comment on unannounced products".


these SATA II mobile hard drives would be similar to the presently just released 5K100, with both SATA and PATA (ie: the regular Parallel ATA) dual connections.

no idea if these new products would have 7K80...


i'll be getting my T42 in 1-2 weeks, but will wait for Hitachi announcement (latest early next year) before deciding to get a 7K60 at cheaper price, or get the 7K80?
