512mb or 1gb in x41 tablet?

#1 Post by AvalonXIII » Sat Dec 01, 2007 4:31 pm

I read a recent review on the x41 tablet and found out that the 915 intel chipset supports dual channel memory. So, my question is that should I use a 512mb memory stick to match the one that is already soldiered into the machine and utilize dual channel memory, or should I uninstall a 1gb stick and have more ram but do not have dual channel? Which one is worth it? thanks in advance for any response.

Dual Channel is overrated. It doesn't really help that much, 5% at most. You'd be better off getting a 1GB stick.

Thanks for your reply. Let's say that I have 2 1gb sticks and a T60. Should I use 2 1gb sticks on that T60, or take out the 512mb stick from the tablet, swap with a 1gb sticks so that both machine can have 1.5 gb. Is it better that way?
