system update

Hi,
I have a T60 (T2500 2GB ram)
I'm trying to connect to "System update"... The connection always fails since it tells me that the Server service is not active.

Does anyone know if it comes from my PC or the Lenovo Server Service ?

On weekends, lenovo servers go through maintenance and from your post it is unclear to me whether it's an error or a usual prompt from ThinkVantage System Update when it goes down.

You can try:

Righ click on My Computer > Manage > Services > System Update > Right Click > Properties

and set it as "Automatic" in "Startup Type", also in the Recovery tab, you can set it as "Restart the Service" for 1st, 2nd and subsequent failures.

Hi oneillsite,


the server seems really slow this sunday morning
and according to this, system update may report you,
that the server is unavailable.



Try it at different times!
