anyone running vista ultimate (32 or 64) on a T6x? how is it

So, I'm getting a full build of vista ultimate with a custom PC I bought - but I'd like to install it on my T61 because of the security features (I live/work in a high crime area and take the laptop everywhere)...

anyway, Are people running this version on the T61 (and related computers) without performance/driver issues? I am under the assumption that I should install the 32-bit for now, due to the current lack of 3rd party 64-bit support - please correct me if I'm wrong. Also, can I format the HDD entirely (ie: erase the Vista Home Prem recovery portion) as long as I make recovery discs first?
