T43 does not burn CDs

My T43 (2686-M4U) is not burning CD's at all. Earlier it used to burn sometimes but none now. Event viewer shows error :

The device, \Device\CdRom0, has a bad block.

But there is no problem with the CD media as i tried different discs but no luck. Has my burner gone for good ?

Have you tried other burning software (Like Nero, or XP's built-in CD burning application) ?

It's most likely the burner.

Try re-flashing it with the latest firmware from IBM
