Hard drive error 0200 after BIOS post...
I get an 0200 error if I insert my 2nd HDD in the Ultrabay slim adapter, and the BIOS won't let me boot at all unless I remove the drive.
I'm positive that this drive works because I directly boot from it when it's attached via USB2.
What's the dealio?
Do I need an OEM HDD caddy to cover the bottom of the drive when using it in the Ultrabay adapter so it doesn't short the PCB on the bottom of it?

You don't need a caddy. The drive goes in with the printing up (not the same as the main HDD). Also, the jumpers must be set for master. Also, some drives with problems will work on USB but will not work when attached to an IDE controller. Their problem is that they repond to commands slower than normal, but USB is a slower interface.

I had a drive that would work on USB connections, would fail drive fitness tests on T4x machines, but would pass on T30 machines. I played with it for a long time to try to figure out what was going on. I remember the situation well. I got the drive in a working T30, which I planned to part out. I was going to reuse it in a T40 I was selling. I connected it to my desktop over a USB connection in order to load a software image. It worked fine, but when I put it into the T40, it didn't work and DFT would fail. When I put the drive back into the T30, DFT would pass.
