ThinkPad T60

#1 Post by oneillsite » Mon Dec 03, 2007 2:17 pm

Hi All,
I have a T60 . with ATI X1300 mobility GPU.

I can't go higher than 1024*768 32Bit Screen resolution.

Does someone know if i can go higher ?
Maybe with a specific driver ?

Thks

Not being able to get a higher resolution suggests that your screen's native resolution is 1024x768.

In order that we can answer accurately, please tell us the Type and Model number of your T60. You can find this on the bottom of the ThinkPad on a white sticker, it should be something like "2007-ABC". DO NOT publish the S/N.

If your internal display is physically limited to 1024x768, you can always plug in an external monitor and run with two displays. The second display can go to at least 1920x1200 resolution.

Don't forget the cable and inverter, should they be needed. See the Hardware Maintainance Manual.

Are you experienced with installing screens? If you're not, I wouldn't do it at all. I was thinking about doing the same thing, but I ended up buying the unit with the exact configuration I wanted. Now I just need to sell the other one, which won't be a problem. The screen also costs more than a whole Thinkpad by itself sometimes, so it doesn't make any financial sense.
