T61 supporting 8GB?

#1 Post by ran007 » Tue Dec 04, 2007 11:34 am

I heard a few weeks back a guy saying that the T61's will support 8GB in the future. Any truth to this?

we won't know until 4GB SODIMMs are released to market and tested in a T61/p.

Will the Santa Rosa chipset or the Santa Rosa Refresh chipset support the 4 GB SODIMM RAMs? Has anyone heard?

the 945GM and 945PM chipsets will only support 3GB maximum.   the GM965 and PM965 have a very good chance of supporting two 4GB SODIMMs with the use of a 36- or 64-bit OS but again we won't know until these modules a released and can be tested.
