T42's use 72 watt 16v, 4.5A AC adapters. This may or may not charge your battery correctly.

I just got the 56W adapter. I'm somewhat disappointed that the "IBM" logo has been replaced with "Thinkpad", but the price is so good that I shouldn't complain.

I'm testing how hot it gets when used with my T42. I like its 14.1" 1600x1200 screen so much that I am actually traveling with this 5.01-lb T42 (with optical drive replaced with travel bezel) more often than my 3.16-lb HP nc2400. So, I'm hoping to minimize the travel weight by using this 65W adapter. But I want to make sure it's safe first.

Judging from the picture, am I correct in assuming this is just the power brick, not including the "mickey mouse" connector between the brick and the outlet? AKA power cord!

The power cord is included!

It has been almost two hours and the adaptor feels kind of warm, but not dangerously warm. I've used both the BIOS and power management to minimize power consumption. So I feel comfortable using this adaptor while traveling.
