I've just installed W98 on a 600E and found I could not have the Modem, the serial port and the infrared port all installed simultaneously due to a lack of IRQ's. I used the configuration utility to disable the infrared.

Are you saying that you run .NET server on a TP600? Sounds ambitious. I'm not sure IBM provide specific drivers for this but I am no expert..

Here is their page for Thinkpad InfraRed problems http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.ws ... us&lang=en

Well yes and sorry for the late reply..

It can be done and no it's not [censored] slow... but sure it could use a extra hand some times ;)

I will try to disable it all.. but how can I test the infra red censor?

Sorry VejsDenmark but my Thinkpad has gone back to it's original owner. From memory, hold F1 while you power on to enter Easy Setup and select Test.

NOt in bios, but in Windows

Hi and thanks for your help so far.

I was wondering if there was a program that could test it. Cause I think it is working in bios. Im playing with the idea of connecting my cellphone to some application so that I can transfer sms-messages and pictures and stuff.

Regards

Michael

The 600 should have test software in its BIOS, as does the 600E. The 600X does not, but IBM provides PC Doctor for that series.

You might try to download it anyway and see if it will run on your 600.
