The hinges have gone on my x20 and I am reluctant to spend any money on it. Has anyone devised a cheaps substitute to keep the screen upright (except for a full bottle or a pile of books behind the screen)? I've tried jamming matchsticks in the gap between the screen and base but to no avail.
Can they be repaired? How easy is it to replace them myself if I find a cheap broken machine?
Any ideas welcome.
Cheers!

The hinges can be definitely replaced, they probably cost around £10, (GB Pounds), new from IBM, (cheaper than a broke TP I think).
Re how to replace them, have a look in the Hardware Maintainance Manual
