Hello, I've had this strange problem ever since I got my x60 over the summer. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if they have found a solution?
I am running vista business with 2 gigs of ram. model 1709
I would connect to a network at school and after a random amount of time, usually within 10 - 20 min, these symptoms would occur:
- 3945abg disconnects from the network
- can't find any new networks
- wireless card starts heating up
- one or both of my cores goes up to 100%
- vista is choppy and barely usable
- shutdown takes 10 minutes instead of usual ~2 minutes
- switching off the radio button and slider doesn't affect it
- hard reboot fixes the problem, but the same symptoms occur again.
This doesn't happen in my home network and it's really irritating. otherwise, this thinkpad has been perfect. I have updated the 3945abg drivers to the latest 11.x.x.x.
I called thinkpad tech support the other day, and the tech guy gave me some strange instructions to reinstall a bunch of access connection software, power manager software/drivers, hotkey drivers and that didn't help.
Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated!
