Path too deep?

#1 Post by dd » Mon Nov 15, 2004 11:01 pm

Hi

Just trying to copy some files to an external drive via USB 2.

However, it wont let me, as it says:

Path too deep? Has anyone else had this?

Thanks

yes..
too many layers..
too deep in subdirectories..
i.e.
C:\docs\downloads\uploads\crap\junk\stuff\awfulstuff\porn\notporn\whatsporn\money\cash\change\
changesmall\penniesfoundinthestreet\fun\notfun\who\what\when\where\app.exe

while the above is whimsical, what it means is that the ultimate directory is just too many characters..

i have run into this when backing stuff up to a CD that is WAAY deep and it exceeds the limit of nnn characters..
