Centrino 2 consumes less of the first generation?(T43>T42

I have read that new standards (Pci-express, serial ata) consume more of classics Pci and EIDE.

In the desktop this is normal. The new standard should not be done to consume less?

The all ThinkPad T43 always consume more of the T42?

Yes, the T43 uses more than the T42 most of the time

Not because of SATA, which should use less power. Don't know about PCIe.

Dual-channel would double the ram power usage, I'm guessing. So even though DDR2 power < DDR1 power, 2x DDR2 power > 1x DDR1 power.

Then the 915gm chipset uses around 6w, versus the 855gm 3w and the 855pm 1.8w.

Of course, but I would use one single ram.

Someone knows the consumptions of PCI-Express and SATA?

Biggest difference:

T43 CPU uses more power than T42 CPU.

So T43 uses more power than T42.
