network recognition

#1 Post by ejr » Sat Dec 08, 2007 7:18 pm

My new t61p, running vista, can access drives on another vista machine, a desktop, and an xp machine, also a desktop. But, my vista desktop can't open and folders on the t61p. Is this some lenovo firewall blocking this? I have the drives on the t61p shared with full privileges for "everyone", as is the case on the other two machines.

Any advice?

The default setting for both Access connections and Norton are to block network sharing, have you enabled it in both locations?

I disabled and removed norton immediately upon receiving the machine. I thought I had enabled network connections. Is there anything particular to do? I can access other machines on this small network.

Is your Vista machines in a "Private" network according to Vista?
