Problem using 4 port, USB 2.0 hub

#1 Post by Greg33 » Sun Dec 09, 2007 11:38 pm

Hi Folks,

Have a question regarding the use of a USB hub. I have one that I have been using with a desktop computer, as well as an Asus notebook, and have never had any problems with it. I plug it in, and it's good to go.

No such luck when I want to use it with my T42. I've tried plugging it into both of the USB ports and the "Found New Hardware Wizard" window always appears. However, Windows is never able to find any drivers for the hub. How can I use it with my T42? I never had any of the "Found New Hardware" windows appear when I've used it with the other 2 computers. So, I cannot understand why it will not work with the T42.

I already checked the device manager and there are no errors listed for the USB controllers.

Any ideas how I can use a USB hub with a T42? Is there some secret configuration I need to be aware of? :?

Thanks,

Greg

Are you running XP SP2? If not, you should be. SP3 is coming out within the week ;).
