CPU Temperature increase when power cable inserted
CPU Temperature increase when power cable inserted
Hello,
I found that the CPU temperature increases by 10 degrees (monitored uses intel TAT) when the system is on power. It is around 72 when on power and 62 when the power cable is removed. In both cases the system was in max. performance mode.
Is this normal or something I need to worry/fix?
Thanks

It is meant to increase, especially when the battery is charging.

when AC is plugged in, both CPU and graphics card operate at a higher speed, therefore generating more heat. This is the default behavior. However, if you like, you can change that through power management settings by applying conservative settings for both AC and battery.thaniks wrote:Could someone explain this behaviour? How can the charging circuitry related to the CPU load/increase in temperature?
Thanks

Even when, as the OP indicated, the Power Profiles for both Battery and AC are set for "Max Performance?"andrey wrote: when AC is plugged in, both CPU and graphics card operate at a higher speed, therefore generating more heat.
