The best time to buy is when you find a system that will do what you need it to do at a price you're willing to pay. Otherwise, you can chase technology and price forever and never buy anything.

New 45 nm processors and updated Santa Clara platform chipset are due for release in January. An updated chipset with a much faster graphics processor for 3D and new chipset (Montevena sp?) is due second quarter.
