Transplant HD from A21m to A21p

#1 Post by RRHODY » Thu Dec 13, 2007 2:46 am

Wondering if I can move a hard drive from an A21m directly into an A21p. Will it work?

It very much depends what you're running on that HDD...here's my experience:

If you have an OEM or retail version of W2K or XP, you could run into issues, and XP might bluescreen on you.

However, if you're running an IBM-issued OS, it will most likely work, and all you'll have to do is update a couple of drivers.

Let us know what your experiences were once you've done swapping...

Good luck.

I've swapped HDD's running W2K and XP between laptops many times. Sometimes the OS coughs or sputters on first boot up but will settle down OK.
I would copy (clone) the HDD to another one, then try the swap.

Should work fine... Tad
