How do you remove the Palm Rest on a 600x

#1 Post by dbarnwell » Thu Dec 13, 2007 1:55 pm

I need to replace my keyboard, but I can't find how to remove the palm rest that the keyboard is screwsed into. Have instructions on how to R&R the keyboard. Any help is appreciated, don't want to break anything.

Thanks

Found it on the Lenovo site:
It's in the Hardware Maintenance Manual (January 2000) - ThinkPad 600X

Use the hardware maintenance manual. It will tell you how to remove the frame. See the FAQ on this site for where to find the HMM for your machine.

Make sure your remove the 4 small silver screws hidden by the hard drive and where the drive bay are. Once those are removed lift the closest end to you just enough to stick your fingers in to disconnect the speaker cable. I have busted a couple not being careful. :?
