Some questions about the X61t
Some questions about the X61t
1. When the X61t is in tablet mode, what physical controls are available other than the pen? I see that there is some kind of 4-way disc; are these exactly the equivalent of the 4 arrow keys on the keyboard (that is, will applications recognise them as the 4 arrow keys)?

2. I saw in a review that the x61t with the 8-cell battery is 3.8 lbs. Is that right?

3. Is there any way to get a DVI output? I saw that the dock does not have DVI.
4. Since it does not have a CDR/DVD drive, I assume I must buy such a drive that runs through the USB port. What's a good model to buy?

To answer question 4....scrolling down the page... http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=53642
1: power button with lock, 'ctrl+alt+del' button, screen rotate button, tablet shortcut key button, 'escape' key button, and 4-way navigation (arrow keys scroll and center button is equivalent to pushing the 'enter' key).
see this video on youtube for a demo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4wDn08VgAY
2: 3.77 lbs with 4-cell, 4.25 lbs with 8-cell. reference
3: DVI is not available either on-board or via the ultrabase. having compared my T61p and X61 with a high-quality cable, VGA output from the X-series is so good that it's almost discernible from DVI.
4: you can either buy an external USB drive or an X6 tablet ultrabase and internal optical drive. there are tons of options here.

If you buy tablet PC with MultiTouch, you can also use your fingers as input device.zephyr wrote:1. When the X61t is in tablet mode, what physical controls are available other than the pen?....snip
4 arrow keys lets you control Active Rotate (screen rotate) and scroll around in browsers or in any windows where you can find scroll bars.

Re: Some questions about the X61t
There are PC Card -> DVI adapters. But personally I don't think they worth the trouble unless you have some very specific needs. The on-board D-Sub output is fine.zephyr wrote: 3. Is there any way to get a DVI output? I saw that the dock does not have DVI.
