iSeries 1161 HDD adapter?

#1 Post by think.t23 » Sat Dec 15, 2007 8:37 pm

Hello.

I'm fixing a iSeries type 1161 that didn't have an hard drive.
But it dosn't have a normal ATA 2.5 connector, does anyone know where I can get a adapter if anyone knows what I'm talking about?
The hinges are broken and they seem to be hard to find, where to shop?

thanks.

Are you Icelandic or someone stationed in Iceland? The reason I ask is because of the exchange rate of the Krona. The conversion rate is what it is, I'm sure you know. (Not your fault...) Any local resale shops, maybe an old Acer laptop might have the same adapter?

I found this one (Ebay Germany)here. This would equal 2250 ISK. Is this the part that you are needing?

thank you for your reply.

Yes I'm Icelandic.
This is exactly what I was looking for, do maybe Acer laptops from the same era have the same hinges?

Your very welcome think.t23!

There might be a chance that Acers of that vintage have the same hinges. That's one very possible option.....

In your dire need of both the hinge(s) and hard drive caddy/adaptor and the cost conversion maybe someone in our "Market Place" would be willing to donate the parts, possibly for just the purchase of shipping, or maybe less. Please try that and see....... If I had the parts they would be on their way, maybe in trade for a little geothermal heat....... it's very cold here this time of year...and expensive.

Many years ago I spent some time in Keflavik, I would love to visit Iceland again. Some of the nicest people I've ever met anywhere in the world!!!!

FWIW,
I may be acuiring a parts machine soon. If it has an adapter and hinge(s), I'm willing to spin a deal with you. I like "foreign" currency as collectables.

Krona, I do not have.
