Thinkpad T30 Hibernation issue

#1 Post by dudeski » Sun Dec 16, 2007 6:39 pm

Hi,

Firstly i want to say i got a R31 5 months ago, it was my first IBM laptop and im sold, i will never use anything else.

I bought a T30 for my uncle and am setting up the laptop for him. I bought it from someone through ebay, it is referbished.

My only problem is that all fn keys work except for "hibernate, f12", "turn off screen, f3" and "enlarge screen, space bar".

I just noticed that the operating system is windows xp sp1, so im currently updating to sp2, i already downloaded latest bios into the laptop form the ibm website.

Any ideas why i cannot put the comp into hibernate, or why some of the other fn keys dont work? Maybe i need to download a patch or something.

Thanks for you're help.

Welcome to the forums!

You probably need to install the keyboard customizer.

Click here to get to the IBM/Lenovo Download and Driver web page. From there click on the link to the Keyboard Customizer Utility for Windows 2000, XP - ThinkPad (4th down in the list) and read the description. It sounds like what you are asking about.

You may find other Downloads and Drivers from the list that you want or need.
