Bios 2.07 for T61/T61p

#1 Post by Nebzar » Tue Dec 18, 2007 11:37 am

Has anybody installed Bios v. 2.07 on a Win XP T61 or T61p?

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-67988

I am a little afraid to flash it, because in the readme it says:
- If you update to the BIOS version 2.07-1.08 or later, you are not able to get back to the older BIOS versions.

I read the changes in this update.

According to the link posted above...
Summary of changes

Version 7LETA7WW (2.07-1.08)

* (New) Added the new error code 1830 to indicate that a single DIMM is not installed in the memory slot 0. Solution for the error code: With a single DIMM, install the DIMM into the memory slot 0 (a slot different from having used it).
* (Fix) Unexpected interrupts from the USB controller may occur.
* (Fix) The system with NVIDIA graphics chip may cause hang.

I am not going to update it since...
1. I don't care about the new error code.
2. I am not seeing any unexpected behavior with my USB devices.
3. I don't have an NVIDIA card.

But of course if your BIOS is way behind, that's a different story.
