v100 does not wake up from sleep

Hey Guys,

New on the forum, i have a v100 and it never wakes up from sleep, you have to hold the power button, get it to shut down and then turn it back on..

is there any fix?

Which Operating System?

Anyways, make sure your BIOS is up-to-date and you've ACPI Power Management drivers are installed from lenovo:

Power Management driver for Windows Vista, XP - 3000 V100

Also, disable Hybrid sleep under Windows Vista by:
Microsoft wrote: 1. Open Power Options by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Power Options.

2. On the Select a power plan page, click Change plan settings under the selected plan.

3. On the Change settings for the plan page, click Change advanced power settings.

4. On the Advanced settings tab, expand Sleep, expand Allow hybrid sleep, click On battery or Plugged in (or both), click the arrow, and then click Off.

5. Click OK, and then click Save changes.
In addition enable WoL (Wake-on-LAN):

Right click My Computer > Properties > Device Manager > Network > Power Management > check "Allow this device to wake the computer".

Some Virus scanners use PassThru drivers that can also be resposible for sleeping problems in Windows based Operating System:

A Windows Vista-based computer does not wake from sleep when a PassThru driver is installed.

Also look into the following:

You may experience problems after you resume a Windows Vista-based computer from sleep or from hibernation.

Fixes for Windows standby and sleep problems.

A Windows Vista-based computer stops responding when you resume the computer from hibernation.

thanks, i will try those things.

I have the latest bios/power management drivers.

I used the laptop on XP - same problem, thought maybe bad install of windows, so i formated and put in Vista Ultimate - same result, no wake up.
