Power Button
In the power management settings, no matter what I set pressing the power button to do, it doesn't work. When I press the power button while windows XP is running, it doens't do anything.
Also when I go into standby mode from Fn + F4, I have to get out of stand by by holding down the Fn key or pressing Fn + F4 again. I can't press the power button to get out of standby.
I have a T41... has anyone else experienced a problem like this and do you know if it is fixable?

Re: Power Button
Does the power button work at all? Can you power on the machine from a power off state instead of from standby?BigMacSangwich wrote:In the power management settings, no matter what I set pressing the power button to do, it doesn't work. I had this problem too at first (though I'm not sure if it's the same thing). Are you just "tapping" the power button, or holding it down for a few seconds? At first I just tapped it, and it didn't do anything at all. Somehow I figured out that if I pressed it for a few seconds it would open the shutdown chooser window (or whatever I had it set to).

Oh wow I feel stupid lol. Holding it down for a couple seconds does the trick. With other computers i've had, this always worked when I just pressed it really quickly. Thanks! lolPyroraptor wrote:I had this problem too at first (though I'm not sure if it's the same thing). Are you just "tapping" the power button, or holding it down for a few seconds? I'm glad to hear it worked for you! I know I was freaked as crap when it didn't for me. You may feel foolish, but also happy that you don't need to replace a motherboard or something.
