embedded controller program version

#1 Post by ravenjim » Sat Dec 22, 2007 9:25 am

Why can't I find the embedded controller program version on my t41p? I've searched everywhere in bios configuration and it's not listed. Was this added later, and since my version 2.11 has never been updated, it was never installed?

I think it must have an embedded controller of some version to run. Either run (or find, download, install and run) the ThinkPad utilities. This application will list both the BIOS and EC version. I don't recall the EC showing up in the BIOS screens, but then it has been a while since I looked. ... JDH

If you hit F1 at startup

The first line is bios version
the second line is bios date
the third line is embedded controller version

If yours doesn't say that, you should update your bios

Okay, I see it now. I was using the Access IBM key Duh!
Bios version is 2.11
Embedded Version is 2.04
Older versions for sure

Thanks!
