TP701 not recognizing the hard drive.

Yesterday I fired up my TP701 to get some old records that are on it. It is still running the original Win 3.1 preload, and I wanted to get some of the files off of it. Don't remember where my floppy drive is, so I took the hard drive out of the caddy and put it in another (desktop) computer with a 2.5 - 3.5 hdd adaptor. It wasn't recognized by the desktop computer, so I put it back in the caddy, and installed it back in the 701. Now the 701 doesn't recognize it.

Any ideas?
