Access Connections playing tricks on me

#1 Post by frgtn » Sat Dec 22, 2007 6:21 pm

I've been using Access Connections on my (not too new) T42 with intel a/b wifi card. Everything was pretty much trouble-free. Until now.

Access connections somehow started to fail setting the gateway for my wifi connection (i use "Custom TCP/IP settings" for setting a static ip at home). Even more funny thing happened when i tried changing those settings. Access Connections ignored them and used the old ones, failing to set the gateway address again. Same happened on my ethernet connection. Tried rebooting a few times - didn't work. Reinstalling Access Connections might help but it's annoying to do it everytime this happens.

Did you ever encountered similar problems? Any insight is welcome.

P.S. i have matching driver and Access Connections versions.

I had an issue with V4.42 whereby the connection settings were stored in the registry in a way that Access Connections could be removed and still work! I had not seen that before, so I uninstalled Access Connections, searched the registry for the connectoids and deleted them, and re-installed V4.41. I have had fewer problems with it. ... JDH
