is this a dead pixel?

#1 Post by paOol » Sun Dec 23, 2007 1:28 am

i watched this video on youtube of this guy using his wiimote to turn any surface into a multi touch whiteboard. so i got my wiimote, and tried it, but i dont have a Infrared pen, so i tried using TV remotes. that didnt work too well, and i also tried my digital camera's lil red flash light (i dont know if its IR or not), and i pressed down the button a few times on accident so i took pics of my screen upclose basically.

a little bit later, i noticed a tiny lil dot on my screen. i Dont think its a dead pixel though.
If im looking at a completely white background, that one dot will stick out a bit. if its a black background, it doesnt stick out as much, but i can still see its there.

this is making me sad =\.
i tried this deadpixel test
http://www.gdargaud.net/Hack/DeadPixels.html

and it seems i dont have a deadpixel, so what is this lil bright dot on my screen!?!?!?

will it go away in time?

im not 100% certain but the dot looks to be a little smaller.

If it's a defective pixel then there's nothing much you can do to remove it and stuck pixels come and go away but defective, seldom. Just pretend it's not there.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

the thing is, its not a dead pixel because i tried a few tests.
and when i was playing Warcraft, the dot was completely gone.
i would alt tab back and forth and the dot would appear and disappear.

tomorrow im going to install ubuntu and see if its still there.
