T23 Key assignments messed up after using port replicator

#1 Post by TheEngineer » Fri Dec 28, 2007 9:14 pm

Hello,

I have a T23 and a Thinkpad port replicator (the small one). When at work, I have a USB keyboard & mouse connected to the dock, which I use daily. After I disconnect, the key assignments on the TP's keyboard are messed up. The keys to the right of Y, H & B seem to be emulating a 10-key numeric keyboard. I have to use system restore in XP to make the keyboard revert back to normal, which it does everytime. A simple reboot does not fix it, though the problem doesn't seem to happen until after I log in to XP. The external keyboard is never affected.

I've tried changing languages, uninstalling the keyboard & rebooting, a PS/2 kb, shutting off/standby/logoff then disconnect, a complete drive wipe & re-install and screaming at it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the Num-Lock key is on. I think you can switch the default on/off in the BIOS. Hit F1 at booting.

That's it - I turn NumLock on with the external keyboard.

Thanks!
