Fan error...

#1 Post by ambientscape » Fri Dec 28, 2007 9:45 pm

I received a Fan Error warning during boot up of my T23. Finally......the fan died!!

Due to the rare T23 model in my country....can I get the T22 fan instead?? Will it be sufficient?

The fan is completely different. Post a "WTB" add in the Marketplace section of this forum, and I'm sure that someone will come to your rescue.

It does not have to be the fan, there is also something about an inductor.

"Something about the inductor" can really be checked only once a known good fan is installed...

I just re-read the link SMA cited, and unfortunately the person who was having a fan error and noticed the inductor under the fan was loose when he removed the old fan apparently didn't resolder the inductor and then reattach the old fan.

He just (apparently) resoldered the inductor and replaced the fan. That doesn't provide any information about the cause of the failure and the person involved even asks whether the loose inductor could have caused the fan problems. Connecting the old fan after fixing the inductor would have provided the answer, but I see no indication that this was done.

In any case, I would check the inductors - and particularly this one under the fan - before buying a new fan. Can't hurt to check.

That, of course, was the easiest fix :D

Congratulations!
