am I to dumb ? T43p with OSX ?

#1 Post by chocorem » Sat Dec 29, 2007 7:05 am

hello,

I'm a little bit depressed, I try to install OSX 10.4.19 or 10.4.18 on my T43p 2668-G4G and no way to get the Thinkpad booting....

Either the install process stop with an error or it simply doesn't boot .

Can anyone tell me wich options I have to select ?

Thanks
Greg

It's better to have a CPU having at least SSE2 or SSE3 capability

No, it's _required always_ to have SSE2, and often to have SSE3.

That said, most of the 10.4.x installation DVDs support SSE2 without problems. The OP might want to give the uphuck 10.4.9 version a try. I had good luck with it on my X40 not so long ago.

Have you tried using OS 10.5.1? KALYWAY has a GREAT installer that worked more or less flawlessly on my T42p...you just need to make sure that you choose the right options when doing it...I already gave the breakdown in the "OSX on a T42" forum

So I was successfull with the 10.4.8 JaOS but it's Tiger, I would like to try Leopard, and going to search for the Kalyway edition... but was not successfull at the time !
