Advance dock issue

I have a T60P (personal use) and my work has issued me a T61 for work. I have an advanced dock (250310u) I use with the first TP. I received a second advanced dock today but it behaves incorrectly.

When plugged in with no TP, the fan comes on as if it were on. When a TP is attached, I get no indicator lights and the TP will not power on (although the dock fan is still blowing)

Any hints to trouble shooting this dock?

I would inspect the Thinkpad connector to make sure there is no obvious short on the pins.

Other than that, I'd say you should send it back for a replacement.

I had purchased this AD though IBM certified used sales. There is a 90 day warranty so I called IBM service. They sent me a brand new one the next day.

So, I ended up with a brand new one for $90 instead of mid $300s.
