AccessConnections - not allowed to edit connection

#1 Post by Czechnology » Sun Dec 30, 2007 7:19 pm

I've installed the latest version of ThinkVantage Access Connections (4.42) and when I click on "Manage", it doess't let me modify the first connection added. The new ones yes, but not the first one created :(
What's the problem? Has anyone already experienced this?
Thanks in advance

I went back to 4.41 for other reasons, but I can edit my first connection in 4.41 without difficulty, and my recollection is that I could do the same in 4.42. Make sure that the setting "to allow other users to create connections..." is set. Otherwise, I don't know what would prevent you from editing connections that you set up. ... JDH

Create another profile that you set up the way you want. Then delete the 'first' one.

I cannot delete it, I cannot edit it.
Just View.

But you could create an identical new one, and move that 'up' and ignore the one you can't edit.

It may be a profile from a prior version (but that should not cause a problem). However, the step now is to uninstall Access Connections *and* uninstall the profiles at the same time. Do not try to save the profiles. Re-start, re-install and re-build the profiles. If that does not help, something else is wrong and is affecting Access Connections. ... JDH

It wasn't old version, it's a new disk with fresh windows installation.
I've went with the reinstallation, solved the problem.

Thanks for advices!
