Sale pending: almost new X61 tablet with SXGA+, $999

#1 Post by pianowizard » Mon Dec 31, 2007 10:35 am

Up for sale is an almost new X61 tablet with SXGA+ screen and 4-cell battery. I bought it to test if I could install its SXGA+ screen into an X40, and found that I couldn't, so I'm selling this tablet. I paid $1,183.36 USD for it. Lenovo shipped it on 25 Dec 2007 and I received it on 27 Dec. It looks like a brand new machine, and you'll get the original box and everything in it. The warranty will expire 8 Feb 2009. Here are the specs:

product code: 7764CTO

Intel Core 2 Duo L7500 LV (1.6GHz, 4MB L2, 800MHz FSB)

12.1" SuperView WVA SXGA+ TFT

1 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz SODIMM Memory (1 DIMM)

Windows Vista Business

80GB Hard Disk Drive, 5400rpm

ThinkPad 11a/b/g Wi-Fi wireless LAN Mini-PCIe US/EMEA/LA/ANZ

ThinkPad X60 Tablet 4 Cell Li-Ion Battery

7764: Express - 1 Yr Depot Warranty

Integrated fingerprint sensor

Local sale only. Please contact me only through PM, not email.

Why don't you use it yourself?

I prefer my HP nc2400, which is lighter.

I've no idea. I expected it to expire in Dec 2008 (a year from the shipping date of 25 Dec 2007), but when I looked up the serial number, it said Feb 2009. If you're suspecting that this unit was shipped in Feb 2007, don't bother -- the X61 tablet didn't come out until June 2007!

I will consider shipping this if I still haven't found a local buyer by mid January.

i thought about this mod as well but quickly discovered from reading design specs that the tablet panels are much too thick.

i might be interested in this unit if you decide to ship.

Thanks for all of you who are interested in this tablet. I got soooooooooooo many PMs that I was unable to respond to everybody (and my extremely busy schedule in the last two week didn't help). I apologize for that.

Toine, who has bought three X4* Thinkpads from me, expressed interest in this X61t over two weeks ago. So, I will be selling it to him.

warranty

#11 Post by nikemen » Sun Jan 20, 2008 12:25 pm

The warranties are longer than one would expect.

I have an SXGA+ model for sale that was bough 12/15/07, but the warranty is till 02/28/2009, since it was two year warranty, but also it appears to be 3+ months more than the 2 years would imply.

I think they do this to compensate for shipping issues, return issues, etc.

the one I have for sale is a little more, still taking offers, but more features and upgrades.
