mouse wakes up laptop

#1 Post by artl » Mon Dec 31, 2007 1:17 pm

Where is the setting that stops mouse movement from waking up the laptop when the lid is closed? I've seen it but after searching for hours I can't find it again. Nevermind I just found the answer in this forum. Guess I didn't use the rite search terms before. Great site

Since it's fresh in your mind, can you please post where the setting is? Thanks.

Control Panel, device manager, select the mouse, power management and uncheck the option "Allow this device to wake the computer"

Yes, thanks for the tip where to find this option, mitasol. We're using a new T61 with Vista business to run wife's embroidery machine. Problem we were having was when laptop was sleeping with lid closed, it'd mysteriously wake up on occasion. It was the vibrations from the embroidery machine moving the mouse.

End of problem after unchecking the box as you described.
