T23 LCD Problems

#1 Post by kerma314 » Tue Jan 01, 2008 4:45 am

Ok I have been following post in this form for sometime and would like to thank everyone for the help I have received. I have been able to repair several T23s. A BIG THANK YOU!
Now I have Two LCDs
First one has lines vertical lines on it. when you move the arrow they will change where ever you move the curser. This problem is the same on a motherboard that I pulled off a good working LCD and replaced it with this one just to test it. Same on both bases.
What do I need to check before I trash it?
The second on is a very good LCD. Other than...well...its got a small round mark or hole in the first layer of the LCD. there is a white spot there now. You can feel the hole with your finger. How did this happen I can hear you asking ? Well...Never ever use a big screwdriver and the put in too long of a screw in the CMOS battery  yes the screen was locked down. I was very tired OK.
Yes there is a hole in my wall where I hit my head.
Can anything be done like replace the top layer?? Hey I like to expermit. So send me all your Ideas. Thanks
Kerma

Yes the one with the small hole can be repaired but it is something that would be hard to do yourself.

There is a thin plastic layer on the LCD. It can be removed and replaced. ”Called repolarizing.”

If it chipped the glass then it might not be able to be repaired.

Good luck.
