NO LONGER NEEDED...WTB... T4X Japanese/American Keyboard

#1 Post by makai » Thu Jan 03, 2008 1:42 pm

Hi all,

I've been trying to find a Japanese/American keyboard for a T41. Does anyone have one they want to sell... or know of where I can purchase one? I've looked on ebay for some time, but no luck so far.

Thanks!
makai

over here we have plenty of places that etch additional languages onto keyboards for around $30-$50 so i would assume you can find the same kind of service over there. but then maybe i'm assuming wrong and this is just a service more often found in foreign countries where dual and triple language keyboards are used by everyone. might even be worth it to send the keyboard abroad to have it done.

an example of the work one place over here does: http://www.pcgraph.co.il/index.php?data ... f6c70e2aee

Wow! That's quite interesting! I never suspected there would be a service like this available... but then again, like you said, probably in foreign countries it's not so uncommon.

I once met a 10 yr old boy in Germany who spoke 5 languages (not all fluently, of course)... quite understandable since crossing the border normally meant speaking another language. The kid was very impressive!

Thanks for the info... I'll either look into it, or just go the sticker route if no one has a keyboard here.

i have two available that i can sell; one new and one used.   both are NMB for a 15" T4x but might fit the 14.1" as well.   i'll get back to you tomorrow with more details.

From what I have read in the below-mentioned thread, 14.1" and 15" T4x keyboards cannot be swapped:
In the thread R50 keyboard into a T42 or T43? underclocker in his post of Wed Jan 02, 2008 8:57 am wrote: I can also confirm that 14" T4x and R5x keyboards are swappable, as are 15" T4x and R5x keyboards.

You can not swap between 14" and 15" models of either type. They have different screw/bolt patterns and quantities.

Johan

Thanks for the offers, but I already had a friend find one for me. I guess I should have edited my post, but it was quite a long time ago and thought it already died. Thanks again!
