Closed - Market Demand for T4* Plannars- New Add Placed

#1 Post by baisley » Fri Jan 04, 2008 4:39 pm

I have obtained some planar assemblies and I am trying to get a feel on the demand for these. These will be with the base cover with planar and most likely the processor and heat sink.

All someone will have to do is add the additional plastics, memory, drives & LCD and they will have a functional laptop. I may just build and turn these as completed units, but I wanted to get a feel to the demand before I make my decision.

All units will be tested and the screenshot of the bootup bios as well as the testing results printouts will be provided for each board. I am not looking to scam anyone and I hope the same in return. But as we have all experienced, there are some turds out there. I will be marking the boards and some other features to prevent someone returning their failed boards.

Let me know your thoughts and average prices. I dont want to be the most expensive guy out there, I would rather turn these with a fair price and volume.

I have T40's T42's T43's & T60's in route.

Motherboards, right?
I'm sure there'll be plenty of demand for T4x boards, at $200 and up depending on the model.

I might be interested!

But.. What graphics are on the T4x boards, at what sizes (14 or 15")

I don't know about the prices.

These will be the motherboards (planar) assemblies. These are typical boards and will not be any of the "P" models. (I would keep those for myself ;-)

I will let you know of the size, but I would assume most will be 14" since this is the more common of the two (IMHO)

Well, even if they're all from 14" machines, these came with both 32Mb and 64Mb GPUs, the latter obviously being more interesting and expensive.

FRUs would be very helpful in helping determine the value on the open market.

I would certainly be interested in buying good tested T4X system boards.

If you got any long heatsink fans, I need one.

I'd definitely buy one as long as they were a decent price. Might even buy two to have a backup on hand.

I have T40's - T41's - T42's -T43's coming in tomorrow (1-11-08)

I will post model numbers as soon as I unpack and check them out.

I dont have any long fans on hand, check with Dimitri, he may have some. For those who are converting to T43's with a T42 Chassis, I have the T43 PCMCIA card cages. Those are cheap since I got a good deal on them.

I am looking for palm rests and bezels for the 14" units. I have a few I am looking to build, so if anyone has some of those that they might want to barter, send me a quick PM
