most certainly should be able to no problem. My old T42 via Dock/Port Replicator to DVI gives me 1920 x 1080 over HDMI to my Plasma HDTV.

I drive a Dell 2407WFP-HC at 1920x1200 over DVI with the Mini-dock, using the ATI X1400 in my T60.piotreckh wrote:I also wonder if graphics in T60p (ATI X1400) can do 1920x1200. DVI or even VGA.
Looked like crap using VGA, although the 1920x1200 resolution was supported. I bought the mini-dock specifically to obtain DVI, and the difference is stunning.

It should be able to definitely.STRYPER wrote:Back to my original question, can the T61 Integrated Graphics Card power 1900 x 1200 over DVI? I am using the minidock.

Re: T61: Can Integrated Graphics drive DVI 1920x1200 ???
A WUXGA screen running at 60 Hz would need a ~138 Mpixel/s rate. The Mobile Intel GM965 Express chipset's SDVO port can deliver a 200 Mpixel/s rate. If the DVI port is driven from the SDVO port, which I can only guess, and there are no other bottlenecks, this would point towards an yes as an answer to your question.STRYPER wrote:T61: Can Integrated Graphics drive DVI 1920x1200 ???
Re: T61: Can Integrated Graphics drive DVI 1920x1200 ???
Since T61 doesn't have a DVI port, you will need the advance mini dock. But yes, supports 1920x1200 both DVI and VGA.STRYPER wrote:T61: Can Integrated Graphics drive DVI 1920x1200 ???

Do you have a link to where it says this? If this is correct, I am going to be extremely upset.pibach wrote:according to Lenovo site, the models with integrated graphics do not output DVI over the dock.

Here's a link on the advanced dock. Seems to hint that with the T60, integrated graphics might not allow DVI-D, but maybe the T61 is OK.
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-61232
By the way, another Lenovo/IBM page listed what seemed like every resolution available with each video card, for the T60. It did not include 1920x1080 for the X1400, but my T60 with X1400 does seem to support that resolution. Might just be that ATI has added it since Lenovo/IBM first documented it. (This means that I should be able to output to a largescreen LCD TV without putting a video card into the advanced dock.)

Thanks. I already saw that link, but as you noted it is for the Advanced Dock not the Advanced Mini Dock, and no problem is mentioned for the T61. I believe the T60 and Z60 integrated graphics were GMA950, not the considerably improved X3100. I just got my T61 today, and plan to order the dock soon.eyestrain wrote:Here's a link on the advanced dock. as we said before, if my old T42 could drive up to 2048 x 1536 then i was more than certain a newer chip could drive 1920 x 1200.
Congrats tho on the new LCD
I want to get a 24" myself but that'll come later.
Congrats tho on the new LCD

Okay - you've got my attention: anyone get a T61 with integrated graphics to drive QWXGA (2560x1600)? I have a T60P driving a Dell 30" monitor at this resolution and was wondering what the minimum graphics option on a T61 is going to be to drive this through the dock DVI.STRYPER wrote:FYI - I received my 24" LCD today. My T61 w/Integrated Graphics is now driving my 24" LCD at 1900x1200 over DVI using the mini-dock.
It looks like it can drive an even higher resolution (QWXGA).

Problem with the DVI output, Vista, and Intel Driver
On a T61, with Vista 32 bit, Mobile Intel® GM965 Express Chipset and an Advanced Mini Dock. I am trying to use the DVI port and the external monitor. The driver does not detect the external monitor.
Uninstalling the Intel driver the Generic profile will work on the external monitor, but is overly fuzzy, how do I get the T61 to recognize my external monitor with the right drivers?
I am currently running the Driver Ver. - 7.14.10.1329, which provides the message under Multiple Display:
Two displays must be connected to the computer before you can use this feature. Please connect another display.

One other thing to add I removed Presentation Director as well, thinking that might have caused some issue. But still no luck in sending a signal to the External Monitor.

According to lenovo, T61 with integrated graphics fully supports DVI regardless of screen size.vlastagf wrote:snip.....- 14 with integrated GPU supports DVI

Dock specification.

TPs specification.
ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pcinstitu ... tabook.pdf
When TP supports DVI and dock supports DVI, you can use it. But there are several models with integrated cards which doesn't support DVI due to lack of a small special chip.

Are you sure we are talking about same thinkpad; T61?vlastagf wrote:When TP supports DVI and dock supports DVI, you can use it. But there are several models with integrated cards which doesn't support DVI due to lack of a small special chip.
