Z61t case material and texture

#1 Post by JonathanGennick » Sat Jan 05, 2008 9:56 am

Can anyone tell me what the Z61t cases are like? I've an R40 that's all plastic, and with no texture. And I've an X30 that is made of some sort of metal, that has some sort of non-slip texture applied to it. Which of those is the Z61t most like?

I have a z61t with the titanium lid: it's a smooth greyish color (it has a smooth metallic feel) and it cleans very well. In fact, I think it's superior to ANY of the other thinkpads including the T-series. I wish my T60p had it as the regular rubberized coating that Lenovo uses for the other series EASILY scratches.

The rest of my z61t is the same as the rest of the thinkpads.

The other z's without the titanium lid, I don't know what they're like.

Hope this helps.

The black Z61t cover finish is like a T23, T4x or T6x. It is the rubberized material. Very sleek, very nice. I was quite surprised.

As my signature states, I have T40, T60 and Z61t's right now. I would say that the "t" in the Z61t is appropriate, as the thinness and quality of the Z61t is similar to T4x's and T6x's.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate your taking the time to reply. I ended up grabbing a Z61t for my niece. I'm optimistic that she'll be real pleased w/it. I can't wait to see it in-the-flesh myself.
