Beeping sound

#1 Post by akhavan » Sun Jan 06, 2008 10:44 am

Hi,

Lately once in a while when I turn off my T60P or try to restart it I get 3 short beep then 3 long beep followed again by 3 short beep. I get that right before the ThinkPad logo comes on. The screen stays dark but the computer is still switch on. I can hear the fan.

I get this when my T60P is dock or not duck but randomly and not very often.

Anyone has any idea what it is? Is there any place which describes the beep errors for T60P?

Thanks

Sepehr

Thanks.

It seems that they are all pointing toward my system board but I have test mine with PC-Doctor and it comes out OK.

Anybody any idea?

If it is under warranty, it might be time to have the board replaced.

Yes. I still have another 2.5 years. But I have checked the mother board and it seems to be OK.

Most of the time I get the beep is after the KIS update. I think it has something to do with my networking.
