ThinkPad T42 cannot be turn-on after being put to hibernate

#1 Post by thomaskws » Sun Jan 06, 2008 11:32 am

Dear All,

My ThinkPad T42 (running on Windows XP) cannot be turn-on after being put into hibernate mode for around 24 hours.

I have tried to release the battery and put it on again, but with no success.

The power on button seems not responding at all.

Could anyone here give me a suggestion on how to solve this problem please?

Thank you very much for any advise on this matter.

Best regards,

Thomas

You might try removing AC Power and the Battery. Then HOLD the Power Button for 30sec. Then re-install the Battery and AC Power. Try it. Usually this reset works.

Dear Treker,

Thank you very much for your advise. I have tried it, but my ThinkPad T42 still can't be turn-on.

Is there any other way?

Thank you once again for your help.

It might be the power switch in the keyboard. CAn you get another one to try?
