SOLD New Thinkpad 11a/b/g Mini PCI-E Cards! (Atheros)

#1 Post by xenocide » Mon Jan 07, 2008 2:12 pm

Will work in T6x, X6x, Z6x...

These are the Atheros cards everyone who has intel cards is upgrading to. I had alot of problems with the intel 3945 card and the atheros chipset solved my problems + gave me better range.

Hey xenocide, do these work in pretty much all Thinkpads. I have T4x and X31 models. May be picking up an X41 or X61. Will this card fit in all these.

If so, I may pick one up from you tomorrow if possible. I live here in Charlotte. In the lower Ballantyne area near South Carolina off of Johnson Rd.

Let me know.......

Thanks

Frank (my email address is fkelly@carolina.rr.com) if it is quicker to communicate that way.

fkelly, these cards are mini-PCIe, and will work only in T6x/R6x/X6x/Z6x. For X3x/X4X you'll need mini-PCI cards.

Xeno, can you find any wireless cards for T23s?

(Yes, this is Steve from OCF.)

Guys, Xeno is a great guy. I've been reading his posts for years, at another Forum. Don't worry about his low postcount. He comes WELL recommended.

I just picked up a card from Xeno and the transaction was extremely smooth. Matter of fact I received the card the next day in the condition (new and sealed in packaging) described.

Drivers should be availabe in system update, otherwise they are in the thinkpad driver matrix for your model, just download the driver for the Thinkpad Wireless (Atheros) model

Mine isn't working, but i think it has something to do with my Router looking for the old card's mac address.

I tried reinstalling the drivers, the card and the IBM access software, but no luck.
