you guys think that in a year we will be able to buy this for a decent price (no more than $300)?

Flash memory pricing is the fastest falling thing in the industry at the moment. they just came out with a 12GB MICRO-SD card, which is pretty much nano-tech.

I predict some ridiculous price tag OEM (ie. $25k) but as a special offer, Dell will introduce them as an option for only $50k each.

Good news, though. In a few years, when flash is dead and something new comes along (hey, it could happen), you will look back at this and laugh... and cry as you will be forced to buy this - which will then be known as "cheap sh**", because the new storage form is so [censored] expensive.

Meh... I still think I could live with that cheap sh** SSD.

I've been following CES coverage religiously on Engadget, and there has been a slew of SSDs of various sizes (including, '72GBs'') so far. So definitely I would imagine that prices will continue to drop in the near future.

They usually comes down in price. It is just a matter of time and competition and development of the technology. 8) Portable dvd players originally were at least $1000.00 . Now one can get one for less than $100.00. USB drives have come down in price. 8)
