I installed - one - extra MUI language on my Vista Ultimate: German.
As a result, the Update Service keeps reminding me that there are 19 (!) important updates: other languages, such as, but not limited to Romanian, Lavtian, Serbian, Slovenian, and even Thai... each with 0.6 GB Size, totalling above 11 GB.
What is the importance with unwanted languages... why.... and how do I get rid of this nonsense...

Annoying "important updates" ....
right click on the update press "hide update" when prompted for administrator privilege hit continue
repeat this process for any update you dont want and it will stop bothering you about the update
