San Diego... a far away land

#1 Post by skitty4gzus » Tue Jan 08, 2008 1:18 pm

So im here in Escondido, which is quite a drive from michigan!! And, quite a bit different from life out in cincy and michigan! I did see a giganormous FRY's on the way in but the work of the ministry will probably keep me from getting in there =( Anyways, are there any members out here in the San Diego area with any ideas of places to go or things to do. Im not saying i will get to go there or do whatever, but who knows. I was supposed to go out on the naval base and see my buddy on the Reagan but that fell through....... bummer

it is exactly what i thought it would be, beautiful. i knew it was a fairly dry and warm climate and for the most part it is. it is quite a lovely place and i would live here in a heartbeat. i would trade in all that snow, and below 0 temperatures, and humidity no problem.

yup, welcome to California. a very dry and warm place but at the same time you got mammoth mountain and you can go skiing during the winter (very cold and windy).

im in san diego. Dunno what you are into but FRYs is a fun store for your technology stuff.... prices are higher than online, though. Then Balboa Park if you are more used to the traditional museums, downtown san diego and gaslamp district if you want to have some nightlife fun, and balboa ave/ convoy area for good asian food at Jasmine for dim sum or korean food right across the way.

turns out all i really got to do was drive back and forth from the ministry and the hotel!!! it is a very nice area and i cant wait till next year when we will be back out here! thanks for all the suggestions though. oh and how could i forget the most wild sight ive seen yet. yesterday night i saw a guy jump the counter at a 7/11 and the cashier chase him out into the parking lot and jump on his car while he sped out of the lot. it was pretty crazy
